TRUSTEES OF THE WHITE FUND
Judge White's will stipulated that his bequest be administered by three trustees. When a vacancy occurs, the two remaining trustees select a replacement. A prestigious group over the decades have had the honor and responsibilities of this trusteeship. Current trustees are:
- James P. (Jay) Dowd, Fund President, since 2003, former teacher and administrator at Austin Preparatory School, former City Councilor District A, former member of Prospect Hill Historic District Commission;
- Amita Kiley, since 2023, Collections Manager and Research Coordinator, Lawrence History Center; co-editor of the book Covid Conversations: Voices from Lawrence & Lowell, Massachusetts in 2023; frequent speaker on all things Lawrence History Center; serves to connect others, especially Lawrencians, to the city's incredible history;- David C. Abdoo, since 2023, Captain, US Army, member of the Board of Trustees at Saint Mary of the Annunciation School of Danvers, vice chair of Saint Patrick Church finance council, finance council at Lawrence Catholic Academy, trustee at Boxford Academy, chairman of Salem State University Board of Trustees, chairman of Lawrence Planning Board, Lawrence City Council District E, Chief of Staff at MassDevelopment.

- Charles S. Storrow, original trustee, active through 1865. (1809-1904) engineer, Boston & Lowell Railroad, water commissioner Proprietors of Locks and Canals of Merrimack River, agent, chief engineer, treasurer and general manager of Essex Company. Treasurer of the Committee for the Relief of Sufferers of the Fall of the Pemberton Mill. In his role there he wrote in 1845 family papers, “I am to do all the work, build the dam, canal, machine shop, purchase and sell land, make all the contracts and payments, to be the father of the whole enterprise.” School Committee, mayor. A school, street, and park bear his name. - Nathaniel G. White, original trustee, active through 1886. Oliver, original trustee, active through 1873. (1800-1885), Adjutant General, Sixth Militia Regiment of Salem, Common Council of Salem, agent Atlantic Cotton Mills in Lawrence, managed Lawrence Common for Essex Co., Lawrence School Committee, Superintendent of Lawrence Public Schools, mayor 1859, served on Committee for the Relief of Sufferers of the Fall of the Pemberton Mill, Mayor of Salem 1877-1881.- George D. Cabot, served 1865-1898. (b. 1812) cotton agent, Lawrence Machine Shop, J. C. Beland, served 1991-2005. (1930-2011), trust officer at Arlington Trust, Company, longtime administrative assistant at the Stevens Foundations in North Andover, founder of the Greater Lawrence Summer Fund, early backer of Essex Art Center where a gallery is named in her honor.- Robert J.
